Subsurface Biogeochemical Lab
Studying flow and biogeochemical processes to advance water resources engineering
News and Announcements
Dr. Lazaro J. Perez, and SBLab director, has been awarded the U.S. Army Early Career Award in the Biogeosciences Program for his project on the role of bacterial chemotaxis influencing fluid mixing and subsurface biogeochemical processes. The research will investigate how bacterial chemotaxis deform fluid interfaces and enhances mixing in porous media, providing new insights into transport and reaction dynamics in environmental systems.
Laura presented her work titled "3D pore-scale quantification of heterogeneity and saturation impact on anomalous transport" at AGU 2025 in New Orleans, LA. This work is part of an ongoing collaboration with researchers from Argonne National Laboratory and OSU. Great job, Laura!
Our lab has been awarded a Moore Postdoctoral Fellowship! The award will support the hiring of a postdoc to join us. Stay tuned for job announcement!
